The Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) was established by the Australian Government.
The Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) is a standing interdepartmental committee responsible for the evaluation of security equipment for use by Australian Government departments and agencies. SCEC reports to the Attorney General’s, Protective Security Policy Committee which was established by the Australian Government to develop and establish guidelines for protection of Australian Government resource.
SCEC is chaired by the T4 Protective Security arm of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).
Australian Government departments and agencies use the services of a Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) Endorsed Security Consultant to establish appropriate physical security environments for the protection of official information and assets.
All security works must be carried out by a licensed “SCEC Endorsed” Locksmith. SCEC
Endorsed Locksmiths are highly specialised locksmiths that have been through an intensive ASIO/T4 training program. They are national security checked, and are licensed accordingly.
